What is the Massachusetts School-To-Career System? |
|
Massachusetts School-to-Career is more than a program—it is
a system that provides students with a sequential variety of
career guidance, academic, technical/technological,
extra-curricular, community and work-based learning
opportunities, and enables them to achieve high standards
while exploring a broad array of career choices.
|
|
Through
School-to-Career participation, students are better
prepared to: |
|
-
Connect their education to
relevant career interests.
-
Develop their own interests
and increase their own potential.
-
Make informed choices
regarding career pursuits and appropriate
postsecondary education and/or training.
-
Develop core skills that are
valuable in many workplace and community
contexts.
-
Improve academic performance
through real-world learning.

What
Parents Should Know
Nearly all
students will work one day; some right after
high school, others after one, two, or four or
more years of further education or training.
School-to-Career helps motivate all types of
learners to gain the academic, social and
workplace skills needed for success in their
futures. Students who participate in
School-to-Career activities are better prepared to
make informed choices regarding their career and
educational goals.
